Living with depression is an incredibly challenging experience that often feels isolating with performing basic routines such as going to work or cooking and feeling like a struggle. However, you can utilize certain techniques to alleviate some symptoms and improve your standard of living.

An easy method of managing your depression is getting a journal. Journal writing lets you be healthily open about your worries, feelings, and thoughts. Having such an output serves as a stress reliever since pent-up emotions are released. However, it would be best if you remained totally honest while journaling.

Further, several studies have found a link between diet and mental health, with poor nutrition contributing to some mental health illnesses. According to a 2012 study, zinc deficiency is linked to some depression symptoms. Many researchers have discovered that improving your eating habits can positively impact your mental health. However, you should contact your physician before making any major changes to your diet.
